Iron Echo Shirt – Handwoven Kala Cotton, Naturally Dyed with Resist & Iron
 
The Iron Echo Shirt is a fusion of sacred geometry and Ajrakh tradition, blending subtle symmetry with an organically psychedelic flow. Woven by hand on traditional wooden frame looms from unbleached Kala cotton, the fabric is then taken to the Ajrakh printing village, where it undergoes a resist and iron dye process before being cut and tailored into shirts.
 
The geometric pattern is applied using resist printing, preserving the delicate motifs before iron dye is hand brushed over the fabric. This technique allows the iron rich dye to settle naturally, creating an organic interplay of light and shadow. Once printed and dyed, the fabric is washed, boiled, and sun-dried, allowing the depth of tone to fully develop. The result is a shirt with a structured yet fluid presence, rich in texture and movement. Finished with handmade coconut buttons, a straight-cut hem, and an offset top button, it embodies effortless craftsmanship.
 
From seed to shirt, every step is intentional. The cotton is grown without GMOs or harmful pesticides, then handwoven, naturally dyed, washed in flowing water, and tailored in a small workshop where comfort and attention to detail come first. The thicker weave of this Kala cotton gives it a slightly more weighted feel, offering durability while maintaining breathability.
