Handwoven Bhujodi Wool Blanket – A Living Tradition
Woven with care by Mandam and his family in their Bhujodi home, this handwoven wool blanket is crafted using Desi wool from the Rabari pastoralists. Woven on traditional wooden 4-pedal looms, this piece carries the essence of Kutch’s rich textile heritage, supporting both traditional crafts and ways of life.
A Tradition Woven in Wool
Bhujodi weaving has long been a collaboration between Rabari shepherds and local artisans—the Rabari supply raw fleece, while weavers transform it into durable, insulating textiles. Each blanket is woven using a lattice-style weave, adding depth and texture to the fabric while ensuring breathability and warmth.
