Wild Silk & Rabari Stitches – A Handwoven Masterpiece
 
This shawl is the result of several layers of craft and tradition, each step carried out by hand. It begins with wild silk, hand-spun and woven on a traditional wooden frame loom, creating a soft yet structured base. Once woven, it is passed into the hands of Rabari women, whose freehand embroidery brings the fabric to life in their signature style, every stitch an intuitive dance of needle and thread.
The Rabari are a nomadic and semi-nomadic pastoral community, known for their deep-rooted textile traditions. Their embroidery is a reflection of their way of life, inspired by nature, mythology, and the stories passed down through generations.
The borders are finished with delicate hand-appliqué, also crafted by Rabari women, adding the final touch to this understated masterpiece.
